Your body is working even while you’re sleeping. In fact all of the rejuvenating and reenergizing processes take place during sleep. These overnight beauty tips can do wonders for your appearance.
UNRULY HAIR IS A BIG NO, NO
Hair, especially long hair, is normally damaged during sleep because tossing and turning on the pillow causes friction, which then, leads to breakage or knots in your hair. The first thing you need to do in order to prevent hair damage and maintain it smooth and healthy is replace your cotton with satin pillowcases. This is advisable because satin pillowcases have a slick surface, meaning that every time you toss or turn, your hair will simply slither. Hair damage will be minimized in this way. To prevent formation of knots in your hair, Michael Van Clark, a London-based celebrity hairstylist, recommends making a loose braid before going to bed. By doing so you will not only prevent formation of knots in your hair, but you will also get nice loose waves in the morning.
GET RID OF WRINKLES
Although you may already be anti-wrinkle serums or night creams, night masks are far more beneficial for your skin quality. Apply the mask over your regular moisturizer and enjoy a fresh looking skin in the morning. To keep your skin hydrated throughout the night always choose masks that contain cranberry extract, which improves skin elasticity, and hyaluronic acid, which evens out lines.
DRY FEET ARE A HISTORY
If your feet dry, cracked, or calloused, you should simply apply some Vaseline or any other thick moisturizer on the dry skin and put on cotton socks to ensure the moisturizer remains on your skin and penetrates easily. Do this every night before bedtime. This is an amazing overnight beauty treatment for your feet.
KEEP YOUR LIPS MOISTURIZED
A thin layer of almond oil can do wonders for lips. Apply some on your lips before going to bed and enjoy soft, smooth lips when you wake up.
SOFTEN YOUR CUTICLES
You can easily moisturize your cuticles and improve your nail quality at the same time by rubbing in some coconut oil before you go to bed.
MAKE YOUR SKIN GLOW
If you want to wake up with a glow on your face, apply some vitamin-E oil under your night cream before every night before going to bed. Optionally, you can use olive oil. Make sure to massage it lightly until it is well absorbed.
Pimples can appear just when you least want them. Luckily, you can get rid of them by simply applying some toothpaste before you go to bed. You should leave it act overnight and rinse it of in the morning so as to minimize the breakout effect. However, be careful to use only paste, not gel.
GROW YOUR EYELASHES
There are a number of eyelash growth serums on the market, but apart from being quite overpriced, they are also ineffective. But something you may have in your kitchen can successfully stimulate eyelash growth – castor oil. Just a little bit of castor oil applied on your eyelashes before bedtime can be extremely effective. Use a clean cotton swab to apply some castor oil along your top lash line. In less than two months this treatment will make your eyelashes longer and thicker.
KEEP YOUR HANDS SOFT
Not only your feet, but your hands should be kept soft as well. The first thing to do is exfoliate your hands with a homemade scrub made of brown sugar and olive oil. Then, use vitamin E oil or your regular hand cream and massage your hands. Put on a pair of gloves and go to bed. Your hands will look much younger and softer in the morning.
