Dandelion roots are best picked during the spring or fall. When you have picked the roots, clean and chop it and then let it dry for about 14 days. Store the dried root in a jar, hidden safely in a dark and dry place. You can store the roots this way for a whole year.
PREPARATION OF THE DANDELION ROOT TEA
- Boil 1 quart of water inside a saucepan
- Chop enough dried roots to fill 1 or 2 teaspoons
- Add the chopped roots to the saucepan and let it boil with the water for about 5 to 10 minutes.
- Use a strainer to sieve out the dried roots as you poor into a teapot. Throw way the root pieces.
