It is disarray that is manifested through dark spots on the skin, which is a result from boosted levels of melanin, known as a dark pigment of the skin. There are many factors that can cause this condition like pregnancy, certain ailments, aging, trauma or longer exposure on the sun. This is benign disarray characterized by non-aesthetic brown spots.
There are two separate groups of causes: external and internal. External causes are those that are coming from the environment like sun exposure or chemicals like betaxofol, minocycline, estrogen, progesterone, etc. Internal causes can be often genetic due to the fact that people with darker skin are more vulnerable to this disarray.
Speckles, age-spots and marks from the sun are manifested because of the ultraviolet rays that are harming the melanin which leads to temporary or unfading discoloration. You can notice this stains on the face and hands because they are exposed on the sun the most, but the stains can appear on any part of the body that is exposed on the sunlight.
Discoloration on the skin can occur as a result of trauma or surgery. The dark stains will stay even when the issue is gone for good.
